Day and Night — Lesson
🌞 Let's Explore: Day and Night! 🌜
Once upon a time in a small Indian village, little Meera woke up early to see the bright sun shining. She played outside happily. But when she looked out at night, the sky was dark and full of stars! Meera wondered, "Why is it bright sometimes and dark at other times?" Let's find out together!
Our Earth is like a big spinning ball. It spins slowly all the time. When the side of Earth where we live faces the Sun, we see Day. When it turns away from the Sun, we see Night.
| Day | Night |
|---|---|
| Bright and sunny ☀️ | Dark and quiet 🌙 |
| We wake up and play outside | We sleep and rest |
| Birds sing and flowers bloom | Stars twinkle and owls hoot |
🌏 Earth takes 24 hours to spin once. This spinning causes day and night.
When our side faces away from the Sun → It is Night.
In India, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. That’s why we say "सूरज पूरब से निकलता है" (The sun rises from the east). Also, some animals like owls are awake at night, while others like peacocks love the daytime!
- Remember: Day means sunlight, Night means darkness.
- Draw the Earth with half bright and half dark to show day and night.
- Don't confuse sunrise (morning) with sunset (evening).
- Board questions may ask: "Why do we have day and night?" Answer simply with Earth's spinning.
